There are certain risk factors that contribute to vulnerability in older adults like health status, social network, cognitive impairment, physical disability etc.

With collective efforts, these problems can be soughted out. If elderly are not able to get medication, special care, food and essential needs, they can be at increased risk of complications and death during emergency. Join hands with Agape Hand to become support of their social life. Involving them in day to day tasks, encouraging exercise, keeping the brain busy with all safety measures will reduce them becoming vulnerable. Food Insecurity – Food Insecurity Issue

Food insecurity is the condition in which people have limited to no access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs. For living healthy life masses do not have economic stability to get good food for their families. There are many causes that food is not available for all people at all times. Sometimes there is shortage of healthy food items. There is also need of agencies that enable the achievement of food. Almost 2 billion people experience moderate to severe food insecurity. When people are food insecure, it can indicate that there is a lower quality of life for residents of a certain area. There are greater chances of obesity, diabetes, malnutrition and chronic illness. Poverty is one the cause for household food insecurity. Secondly, food is inaccessible in remote communities due to lack of transportation. Climatic conditions like floods make food scarcity. Mostly low income people and elderly are affected by food insecurity.

End Poverty – A mission for Agape Hand

Poverty is not only a world problem, but it is the root too many other problems that create so many hurdles for a common man to lead a life with substantial standards. The pandemic had already hit the most vulnerable section of the population not only in Peru but all over the world, only to be made worst by the recent crisis. According to the data provided by the world bank; the poverty in 2019 had gradually been reduced to 20.2% by the efforts of many hardworking personnel, due to the pandemic in 2020 it spiked nearly to the previous level of 2010 nearly at 30.1%.

We at Agape Hand are trying our best to work towards the almost impossible mission of “Ending Poverty”. We do understand that there are always factors that creates hurdles in our mission but our aim is to incapacitate these hindrances. Merely funding a poor family is not enough to reduce the poverty anywhere in the world. Our aims and objectives are focused on equipping families and their bread earners with required resources to establish life and improve the life of others around them.

One of the main causes of poverty is inequality, it is through equity we can truly achieve our goal. The systemic barriers that lead to groups of people going without representation in their communities leaves them further behind in terms of resources and opportunity. In order for a community, or even a country, to alleviate poverty, all groups and identities must be involved in creating solutions.

It is through true and transparent justice that we can eradicate poverty from its source, it is the difference in the social status of a wealthy man and an alms-person that fuels the unholy fire of poverty. Most of the successful countries in the World have reached to that point by establishing the rule of law similar for all their people no matter what is their religion, ethnicity or their balance sheet status.

Education has been proven as one of the most powerful tool in the world not only for eradication of poverty, but for many other common problems. Social Media has played an equivalent role to educate not only about the theories but also provide people with the skills that can help them elevate their standard of living.

As much as we like to avoid the reality, but it is true that without proper financing and skilful individuals no campaign can completely achieve its objectives. We all carry the obligation of doing our part for the betterment of the unfortunate, we never know what a person might consider as a little help towards the goal can be moment that change the course of the events.

San Juan de Lurigancho is a district in Lima, Peru. It is the most populous district with the current population exceeding one million. There is lot of insecurity of jobs and unemployment rate is high is this district of “The Angels”.

Many families are below poverty line and cannot give good life to their children. Agape Hand and with collaborative efforts of the entire team made such people smile over the festive season and New Year by providing food baskets and chocolates to children. Food shortages can create panic in the minds of vulnerable children and families who do not have any source of income generation. In poor countries like Uganda, there is food scarcity due to natural calamities like famine, crop failure or floods etc.
Chronic hunger persists and common pots serve various societies and neighborhoods in eradicating this food hunger among young and old.

Helping Hands in Sierra Del Peru

Agape Hands is a non-profit organization which has been helping many people who are unfortunate to provide food for the families.
Food baskets are provided in Sierra Del Peru for the needy. This region has over 50 percent population struggling with basic amenities of life. Being an extremely poor region, we encourage youth and all individuals to join hands with us to donate food and clothing. This region is badly hit by the pandemic leaving the people in extreme poverty with no source of income. Many families went into depression of losing jobs in Covid 19 and unable to cope up with the living.
Individual efforts and volunteers from all parts of the world are invited to join hands with us for the purpose of serving humanity. No one should be left behind with hunger.

Agape Hand is a non-profit organization which has helped many people under poverty by delivering food. Through collaborative efforts of volunteers, local residents and dedicated team of this organization, tons of food was collected and supplied to people in need. Many families had no income for survival and got benefits from everyone’s efforts in eradicating poverty and hunger.
Also, many in many families, child mortality rate were higher due to lack of nutrition in pregnant women. Some families were victims of domestic violence and some with parents with disability. Agape Hand not only gave food but also collected donations for families in need. Whole team created awareness of eating healthy nutrients and raised sources of income support.
Donations were collected and basic needs of people were fulfilled by our organization for those who were victims of abuse and had no one to be taken care of.
All this was possible by the volunteers and residents who stood hand in hand in every cause and raised funds for the needy. Please be a part of Agape Hand and serve humanity.

FUNDRAISING

The world has severely been hit by the pandemic and in return the NGO has faced a gradual slow down in the funds raised by we have come up with Ideas that will improve the fundraising sector of the NGO.
The pandemic has forced the NGO to cancel some of the programs as planned before the pandemic in order to save more and carry on with its duties as it will run with the able activities but soon resume with all its activities after the pandemic. Major activities remain firm though more donors have been contacted and positive responses have been seen giving room for the new hope to enhace our funds sector, the NGO has come to a tough decision to cancel out some of the planned programs, later on more donations and grants are expected to boost our NGO hence resume with our programs.
